Handling and Storage of Decorative Panels After Delivery

Practical guidance on storing and handling decorative panels after delivery, helping reduce the risk of bending, scratching, contamination and later installation issues.

Handling and Storage of Decorative Panels After Delivery

After decorative panels arrive on site, proper storage and handling become important practical steps. Even if the material itself is suitable, careless storage or movement may lead to bending, scratching, contamination or later installation problems.

I. Keep the Storage Environment Stable

Panels should be stored in a clean, dry and stable environment, away from excessive moisture, direct sunlight and conditions that may cause deformation. The storage area should also provide enough space for safe stacking and later handling.

II. Protect the Surface During Handling

During movement and temporary storage, the finished surface should be protected from scratches, contamination and pressure marks. Extra attention is needed at corners and edges, as these areas are often more vulnerable during lifting and transport.

III. Check Orientation, Quantity and Condition

Once the panels arrive, it is useful to confirm quantity, dimensions, visible damage and identification marks as early as possible. This helps the project team avoid confusion later, especially when multiple panel sizes, finishes or installation areas are involved.

IV. Prepare for Installation in Advance

Good storage and handling are not separate from installation. Before installation begins, panel arrangement, transport route, lifting method and on-site protection should all be reviewed together. The more orderly the preparation is, the smoother the installation stage will be.

Overall, proper handling and storage after delivery help reduce unnecessary loss and improve installation efficiency. Many avoidable site problems can be prevented simply by managing materials more carefully in the period between delivery and installation.
